This year’s 11th issue of Kodansha’s Weekly Shōnen Magazine announced on Wednesday that Atsushi Ohkubo’s Fire Force manga will end in two chapters. The manga is scheduled to end in the 13th issue on February 22. The manga entered its final arc in October 2021.
Ohkubo previously said on December 31 that his manga would end in “a few” chapters, and that he had two chapters left to draw. He also confirmed that the manga will end in “about” two volumes, which would be the 34th volume. Ohkubo previously hinted in the author commentary of the manga’s 23rd compiled book volume in May 2020 that the manga was in its final stage, and that he was planning for Fire Force to be his final manga.
On February 9, it was revealed that Atsushi Okubo’s manga “Fire Force”, which is being serialized in “Weekly Shonen Magazine” (Kodansha), will be completed in “2 episodes remaining”. In the 11th issue of the same magazine released on the same day, it was announced that “until the completion, there are two episodes left.” The 13th issue of the magazine, which was released on February 22, will reach its final edition, ending the series for about 7 years.
“Fire Force” started serialization in the same magazine in 2015. It depicts the activities of a special fire brigade that confronts the fear of fire and the mystery while a human body ignition phenomenon occurs in which a person suddenly burns and becomes a monster of fire. The comics have been released up to the 32nd volume, and the cumulative circulation in the world is more than 17.5 million.
It has also been made into a TV animation, and the first period was broadcast from July to December 2019, and the second period was broadcast from July to December 2020. TV anime episodes 1 to 24 are now available on the official YouTube channel “Magazine Channel” of “Weekly Shonen Magazine”.
