According to a popular leaker on Twitter, the hit video game NieR: Automata is getting an anime adaptation, but fans aren’t too impressed. Anime leaks are common on social media, often trending worldwide on Twitter with only a few pieces of information.
This week, the biggest anime leak comes from the hit video game series NieR: Automata, a title that launched in 2017.
However, members of the NieR: Automata community have given a surprisingly mixed reaction to the leak indicating an anime adaptation is in the works.
On February 4th, 2022, the popular Twitter page ‘Spanku_u’ shared an image of the NieR: Automata and claimed that the video game will be receiving an anime adaptation.

The page, which joined in March 2020, shares information about upcoming anime projects, is widely considered to be a typically credible source for the latest anime news. The post, which only stated that “NieR:Automata will be receiving an anime adaptation!” subsequently went viral on Twitter, with over 28,000 likes and 4,000 retweets from fans.
At the time of writing, no production company or associated distributors have officially confirmed the production of an NieR: Automata anime.
