During the stage event for the upcoming ODDTAXI film at AnimeJapan 2022 this weekend, producer Hirofumi Ito was asked about a possible second or third season by Takanori Nishikawa, who was hosting the stage alongside Ryohei Kimura, who voices Gоuriki in the series. Producer Ito laughed at the question and responded with a quick, “that depends on the movie (doing well).” The ODDTAXI: In the Woods anime film releases this Friday in Japan.
Kimura also chimed into the conversation, exclaiming that “if there’s a second or third season, I’ll have to intensely practice my Gouriki!” The voice actor also offered a role in the possible next seasons to Nishikawa, asking him what animal he’d like to voice. Nishikawa responded enthusiastically and appealed to the audience to go see the film in the first week, even though he’s not in it.
It wouldn’t be the first time fan demand has driven more ODDTAXI content, with the film being a direct response to the Blu-ray getting over 6,000 pre-orders when the producers only expected 300. If the film does well, we may see the animal crew return to the streets of Tokyo!

ODDTAXI originally aired as part of the Spring 2021 season, with the series streaming on Crunchyroll at the same time. The film is set to be released in Japan on April 1.
Synopsis
This town should look familiar, but suddenly, it’s not. The taxi driver Odokawa lives a very mundane life. He has no family, doesn’t really hang out with others, and he’s an oddball who is narrow-minded and doesn’t talk much. The only people he can call his friends are his doctor, Gouriki and his classmate from high school, Kakibana. All of his patrons seem to be slightly odd themselves. The college student who wants to be noticed online, Kabasawa. A nurse with secrets, Shirakawa. A comedy duo, the Homosapiens… All these mundane conversations somehow lead to a girl who’s gone missing.
