What I believe to be the top 1000 anime series ever produced will be included in this list of ” Top 1000 Animes ” The entertainment value, popularity, enduring appeal, writing caliber, originality, and significance to the anime medium are some of the criteria used to determine whether a series is outstanding. I didn’t consider a single factor in itself. As you can see from my description, I took many, and this is not a list of the most popular anime. I finished watching all of these and can attest that they are well worth your time. As someone who has seen more than a thousand anime series over the course of many years, I am able to recognize when an anime truly merits watching.
My Top 1000 Animes | Part 2 List:
Number 11:
Isekai Cheat Magician (12 Episodes)
Isekai Cheat Magician is one of those shows where the title is true, though it appears to be a trend in isekai stories (light novels and anime) to simply describe the basic plot and use that as the title. There’s something quite relaxing about genre fiction that doesn’t aspire to be anything other than its basic label, and why isekai works are because it usually brings something to the table that everyone can enjoy.
You don’t have to watch this closely to enjoy it; if you like action and over-the-top MCs, this is for you. The only complaints are the story and the lack of character development, but overall, you won’t have a positive or negative experience watching this anime.
Genres: Action, Adventure, Fantasy
Studios: Encourage Films
Number 12:
Magical Warfare (12 Episodes)
Takeshi Nanase is a typical high school student with a dark and troubled past. On his way to kendo practice, he encounters a girl named Mui Aiba, who is dressed in a school uniform he has never seen before. Instead of thanking Takeshi for nursing her back to health, she accidentally turns him into a magician.
This anime is full of interesting twists and turns. But, once again, I won’t go into detail because it will be spoiled. However, I’m not going to give this anime a perfect score because it ended on a cliffhanger, and these types of series, in my opinion, require 24 episodes or more so characters can grow. And you’ll have more time.
Genres: Action, Fantasy
Studios: Madhouse
Number 13:
Tokyo Revengers (24 Episodes)
Takemichi Hanagaki is experiencing the worst time in his life. He finds out that his ex-girlfriend, Hinata Tachibana, was murdered by the Tokyo Manji Gang, a group of vile criminals who had been disturbing society’s peace for some time, just as he believed things couldn’t get much worse. When Takemichi travels through time while trying to figure out what went wrong, he finds himself 12 years in the past, when he was still dating Hinata. After understanding he has a chance, Takemichi chooses to join the Tokyo Manji Gang and advance through the ranks in order to alter history and spare Hinata from her tragic end.
Genres: Action, Drama, Supernatural
Studios: LIDENFILMS
Number 14:
Zombie Land Saga (24 Episodes)
Sakura Minamoto, a high school girl, is fatally struck by a truck in the year 2008, the morning before she is supposed to apply to an idol. Ten years later, Kotaro Tatsumi, who wants to revive Saga Prefecture by forming the all-zombie idol group Franchouchou, brings Sakura and six other “famous” girls from various periods of Japanese history back to life as zombies.
The Zombieland Saga completely breaks all the rules of what you could have expected from an Idol or zombie anime. It is a comedy, but the comedy is less about specific jokes and more about the ridiculous ideas that are put forth in general. Though it won’t be for everyone, I would strongly advise you to at least give it a shot.
Genres: Comedy, Supernatural
Studios: Mappa
Number 15:
Demon Slayer (37 Episodes)
Tanjiro Kamado vows to become a demon slayer to avenge the deaths of his family, while also attempting to cure his sister who has been turned into a demon. As a result, we follow Tanjiro on his journey, training to become stronger, attempting to save people, and encountering a variety of colorful characters along the way.
I’ve been enjoying this anime. From the amazing visual effects to the incredible soundtrack composed by two talented people, you have a highly enjoyable time from the beginning to the end of the episode. I’m only deducting one point because there were some moments that I found boring, and the fact that it follows some stereotypical shounen tropes made me roll my eyes a little. Even if this isn’t for you, it’s still a lot of fun.
Genres: Action, Fantasy
Studios: Ufotable
Number 16:
Re:Zero
Consider a show that repackages some of anime’s most recurring themes into a fantasy thriller. That is essentially what Re:Zero is. The show, which is based on the novels of the same name, is a darker fantasy story than most people are familiar with. It’s not like a show where a character is trapped in a world and must find a way out. Re:Zero is a fantasy thriller with a delirious level of complexity.
You’re probably wondering if the journey was worth it by the time you’ve finished watching Re:Zero. As each episode progresses, the deconstruction of a typical fantasy show becomes clear. The main cast is given a good amount of characterization. And, with the show’s numerous cliffhangers, I believe it’s easy to find yourself anticipating what will happen next. Indeed, Re:Zero is more of a fantasy thriller than a ‘trapped in game’ story. Every episode provides something for the fans to look forward to. And if that isn’t enough, you’re watching it incorrectly.
Genres: Drama, Fantasy, Suspense
Studios: White Fox
Number 17:
Code Geass (50 Episodes)
In Area 11 (formerly named Japan) under Britannia sovereignty, Lelouch Lamperouge seems to be an ordinary high school student at Ashford Academy. He is the seventeenth in line to the throne and a prince of the British imperial family. As a result of the death of his mother and the crippling of his sister, he grows to hate the emperor of Britannia and the entire imperial system, promising to overthrow them one day. Lelouch obtains the power of Geass, which allows him to make anyone do what he wants, after meeting a mysterious young woman named C.C. With this power, Lelouch transforms into the enigmatic character Zero and starts his conflict with the Britannia Empire.
It’s difficult to resist praising the characters since they are so wonderful and amazing. There are certain characters on the program who is a goody too shoe or downright obnoxious, making you want to strangle them and kill them off. Given how fantastic the characters are, anything might happen to them. There are also ignorant, overly-loving, or hateful characters, but in the end, you’ll have a character you like or perhaps even love.
Code Geass is probably one of the few mecha animes that will appeal to people who are not only into action. Battles are kept to a minimum: the main attraction is Japanese nationalism against foreign invaders, whose actions in the name of peace undoubtedly cause bloodshed. One of my favorite themes was the interplay of cause and effect.

Number 18:
Mashiro no Oto (12 Episodes)
Setsu Sawamura runs away from his small home village following the death of his grandfather, the legendary shamisen master Matsugorou Sawamura. On his deathbed, Matsugorou told Setsu to give up the shamisen if he was only going to imitate others instead of playing in his way. Grieving, Setsu heads for Tokyo, hoping that the big city can inspire him to discover his unique playing style. Tokyo, on the other hand, defies his expectations by drowning out all other sounds with the deafening noise of city life.
Mashiro no Oto may be a niche show, but don’t let that stop you from watching it. It’s a show about personal discovery as well as music. From a realistic standpoint, life itself has limitless possibilities, and the cast of this show wants to grab opportunities to discover themselves. And if you came into this anime with a similar goal in mind, to find something to remember from it, you’ve come to the right place.
Genres: Drama, Slice of Life
Studios: Shin-Ei Animation
Number 19:
Noragami (25 Episodes)
The story of Noragami begins with Hiyori, a normal high school girl who meets Yato, a homeless god, but we’ll get there later. Hiyori, being the angel that she is, pushes Yato out of the way of an incoming bus when he unexpectedly runs into traffic. This causes not only an accident and her being taken to the hospital, but she also develops the somewhat troublesome habit of losing her physical body and taking on a similar form, but she travels around as her soul separated from her body. She begs Yato and pays him in advance to restore her to her original form, and thus the two connect, and Hiyori is abruptly introduced to the world outside of our reality.
The main cast and supporting cast of Noragami are both “amazing,” in my opinion. This was possibly one of the few animes where the characters worked so well together and supported one another that it not only seemed realistic but was also enjoyable to watch. Not to mention, the characters are entirely different from what they were at the beginning of the series by the finale.
Noragami is a fantastic anime. It not only has great characters, but it also has awesome stories that are highly relatable. This anime is a must-see, thanks to its beautiful art and soundtrack.
Genres: Action, Fantasy
Studios: Bones
Number 20:
Nura: Rise of the Yokai Clan (48 Episodes)
Rikuo Nura is the main protagonist of the series. Nurarihyon, the Nura clan’s supreme commander, is his grandfather. Nura is one-quarter yokai due to his human mother. Once Rikuo’s yokai abilities are realized, his grandfather wants him to become the Nura clan’s leader. Rikuo grew up around yokai and believed they were cool, not realizing that humans didn’t believe they existed. At a clan assembly, Nurarihyon declares his plan to name Rikuo the next heir of their clan. After a few years, Rikuo wants to embrace his human nature and is no longer interested in becoming the clan’s future leader. Meanwhile, Rikuo is recruited into a new club at school dedicated to tracking down yokai, because the group’s leader is looking for the yokai that saved his life during the bus disaster earlier in the story.
Nura Rise of the Yokai Clan has a pretty intriguing concept, in my opinion. In the end, it’s a narrative of a young child who is divided between where he belongs and what he wants to do with his life. While yokai and demons play an important role in the tale, the series’ main message is immensely accessible to readers, particularly teenagers.
