Japanese singer LiSA is getting a feature documentary LiSA Another Great Day that will be streamed exclusively worldwide on Netflix in the fall of 2022. The upcoming documentary is a personal look into the singer’s 10th anniversary year project. The announcement was made on her official Facebook page.
According to her official Facebook page, the documentary will “explore the true face of LiSA as she creates music, performs, and tries to make every new day another great day”. In addition, the documentary will also follow the musical journey that led her to become one of the best-known Japanese musicians of the current era. Taketoshi Sado is directing the documentary, while Naomi Satoh will serve as its executive producer.
Netflix Japan also announced the documentary, while stating that LiSA has always lived a life of modesty and that the documentary aims to make her more approachable to the fans in Japan, but also overseas:
LiSA, born as Risa Oribe, is a singer signed to music label Sacra Music, which is under Sony Music Artists. She is a well-known name among the anime community, having performed theme songs for Sword Art Online, Demon Slayer, and Fate/Zero series. In addition, her various music performances and extensive discography have brought her multiple recognitions and awards, including the 39th JASRAC Gold Award and Grand Prix of the 62nd Japan Record Awards, among others.
She is currently married to Tatsuhisa Suzuki, who is also a singer and a voice actor. The couple announced a hiatus back in August of 2021 after allegations of Suzuki’s cheating with a female fan surfaced. Weeks later, LiSA announced that she would be resuming activities, starting with her “Ladybug” tour in November 2021.
