VRV is a subscription bundle that includes anime streaming service Crunchyroll, as well as other streaming services like Cartoon Hangover, Rooster Teeth, and Mondo. However, Funimation used to be part of VRV until November 2018 when they ended their partnership with Crunchyroll.
After the acquisition of Crunchyroll by Sony’s Funimation Global Group in August 2021, the Funimation content was gradually moved to Crunchyroll in March 2022, and the Funimation brand name was eventually retired. Furthermore, HDIVE content was removed from VRV in September 2021 after the Crunchyroll acquisition.
