On Wednesday, Kadokawa and TROYCA unveiled additional staff members, a “machine visual,” a fresh promotional video, and announced that their collaborative anime project, Overtake!, will premiere in October.

Overtake Cast Members
Haruka Asahina will be portrayed by Anan Furuya, Kōya Madoka by Katsuyuki Konishi, Kotarō Komaki by Tasuku Hatanaka, Satsuki Harunaga by Kengo Kawanishi, Toshiki Tokumaru by Taku Yashiro, and Arisu Mitsugawa by Reina Ueda.
New Staff Members
Akira Itō from Studio ARA, known for their work on Baccano! and Durarara!!, will serve as the Art Director. Mariko Shinohara, who worked on Bloom Into You and IDOLiSH7 Second Beat!, will be the Color Key Artist. Tomoyuki Arima and Takuya Sejima will handle Art Direction, while Masaya Machida from Birdie Wing -Golf Girls’ Story- and Mitsutaka Iguchi from Bloom Into You will collaborate as CG Directors. The Visual Effects will be handled by Ryosuke Tsuda from Aldnoah.Zero, with Tomoyoshi Katō from Bloom Into You serving as the Compositing Director of Photography. Shota Migiyama, known for his work on Re:CREATORS, will be in charge of Editing, while Jin Aketagawa from 86 and Goblin Slayer will work as the Sound Director. Kana Utatane, who composed for The Legendary Hero is Dead!, will create the Music, with F.M.F in charge of Music Production and Lantis as the Music Producer.
Main Staff
The original work for the anime is credited to Kadokawa and TROYCA. Ei Aoki, who directed Fate/Zero, Aldnoah.Zero, Girls Bravo, and Wandering Son, was previously announced as the director for the project at TROYCA. Ayumi Sekine, known for her work on the IDOLiSH7 franchise and Technoroid Overmind, will be supervising the series scripts. Takako Shimura’s original character designs will be adapted for animation by Masako Matsumoto. Katsuhiko Takayama, who worked on the series composition for Aldnoah.Zero and Two Car, will supervise the project.
The plot of the anime revolves around Formula 4 (F4) motor sport. Kōya Madoka, a freelance photographer, is going through a rough patch due to a specific reason. To work on a story, he visits Fuji International Speedway, where he meets Haruka Asahina, a high school F4 racer. Despite not having strong emotions for a long time, Kōya’s heart starts racing upon meeting Haruka. He decides to support Haruka and the “Komaki Motors” youth team to help Haruka achieve his aspirations.
