Studio Trigger just announced a new Panty and Stocking With Garterbelt anime project during the Anime Expo 2022 panel. The new anime comes over 12 years after the original one premiered. The series was created by Hiroyuki Imaishi (PROMARE) and produced by Gainax. Imaishi went on to found the studio Trigger.
Funimation describes the plot as:
Two angels banished from the pearly gates for being foul-mouthed, sex-crazed bad girls hunt ghosts in the abyss between Heaven and Earth.
