Sword Art Online: Full Dive Event Gets a Trailer Featuring Anime Scenes

The Sword Art Online franchise will be having an event titled Sword Art Online -Full Dive- on November 6, 2022, in line with the anime’s 10th anniversary, and the event received a trailer that features scenes from all arcs of the series. November 6 is also the day Sword Art Online launched in the story. You can watch the video below:

The video features the event’s theme song titled “Sora no Fanfare“, which is performed by Yuki Kajiura’s FictionJunction, ASCA, Reona, and Eir Aoi. FictionJunction is a special music project, that focuses only on songs written by Kajiura, who composed the music for the SAO TV anime. The anime will mark its 10th anniversary on July 8, 2022.

Sword Art Online in 2022 – The Year Where It All Began

Sword Art Online series had multiple seasons from July 2012 until September 2020. It also received two movies titled Sword Art Online: Extra Edition, and Sword Art Online: Ordinal Scale. Both movies and the first two seasons were directed by Tomohiko Ito. Manabu Ono is the one who directed season 3. In, October 2021, a spin-off movie titled Sword Art Online: Progressive -Aria of a Starless Night- premiered in Japan. Part 2 of the movie, titled Sword Art Online: Progressive -Scherzo of Deep Night- will premiere on September 10, 2022. Ayako Kono is directing the Progressive series. A-1 Pictures animated the whole franchise.

The anime is based on Reki Kawahara’s Sword Art Online light novel series. ASCII Media Works has been serializing it with abec’s illustrations since 2009, and it currently has 26 volumes, with more than 26 million copies in circulation. In 2012, the same publisher started publishing a spin-off light novel series titled Sword Art Online: Progressive, which shows the early days of Kirito and Asuna in Aincrad. The Progressive light novel series currently has 8 volumes available. Yen Press licensed the original Sword Art Online light novel series in English and describes the plot as:
