On Tuesday, the official website for the television anime adaptation of Mashiro’s My Love Story With Yamada-kun at Lv999 (Yamada-kun to Lv999 no Koi wo Suru) manga unveiled its main promotional video, along with additional information on the show’s cast and staff, as well as its theme song artists. The website also treated fans to a brand new visual that’s sure to heighten anticipation for the upcoming series.

Fans of the upcoming anime series My Love Story With Yamada-kun at Lv999 can look forward to some amazing music as well! KANA-BOON has been tapped to perform the opening theme song, “Gradation feat. Yūho Kitazawa,” which is sure to be a hit with fans of the popular J-rock band. Meanwhile, the ending theme song, “Trick Art,” will be performed by the talented Ryūjin Kiyoshi.

Staff

The anime is being directed by Morio Asaka, known for his work on Chihayafuru, Card Captor Sakura, and My Love Story!!, and produced by Madhouse. Kunihiko Hamada is responsible for character design, while Yasuhiro Nakanishi, who has previously worked on A Couple of Cuckoos and Kaguya-sama: Love is War, is in charge of writing the series scripts. The music will be composed by Mito, from the group Clammbon (known for their work on Yurei Deco), and DÉ DÉ MOUSE, who has previously worked on the soundtrack for Wonder Egg Priority.

Story

Akane, who has been recently dumped by her boyfriend, is on the brink of quitting the RPG they used to play together. However, she meets Yamada in the same virtual world and discovers that he is a legendary player. The only issue is that Yamada is solely focused on the game and nothing else. As Akane’s feelings for Yamada intensify, she must confront the possibility that he may never share her affections beyond the game.

The manga Loving Yamada at Lv999! was first published by Mashiro in 2018, and to date, Kadokawa has released six compiled book volumes, with the latest being published on October 21.

The manga’s popularity has been recognized with the Grand Prize at the 6th Annual Tsutaya Comic Awards 2022, and it has achieved impressive sales of over 1 million copies in circulation in Japan.
